Seeking Metadata Data Entry Specialists for a temporary opportunity with a government contractor. We have 5 openings, full time, long term position (40 hours a week; Monday to Friday lasting at least 6 months, set your own hours).
Remote work from home.
Metadata is “data that provides information about other data”. In other words, it is “data about data.” We deal with specific metadata such as descriptions and references. This data helps others discover and identify and locate information and includes author, subjects, keywords, publisher, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Adhere to data entry and metadata description standards and other metadata schema standards for a variety of electronic material, including, text, audio, photos, video and etc.
- Maintain database by compiling and sorting information.
- Identify specified metadata within Federal government publications
- Accurately identify and enter meta data/ data entry
- Reviewing data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities and checking output.
- Review daily data entry files to check for errors and submit report that includes the number of files and descriptions processed.
- Login to access our database and provide metadata for digital objects added to a digital repository
- Support expansion of media within the client as audio, video, still image, data series, or other content may be added
- Provide publications support, such as desktop publishing professionals, editorial assistants, and graphic designers to assist client’s reports, informational materials, and other documents in print and electronic formats
- Provide special collection views in the client’s Catalog as required for government agencies to be accessed upon the request of the agency
Additional Responsibilities include the following:
- Perform review of digital content
- Review Audio/Video/Graphics
- Respond to emails and requests for information
- Handle incoming media requests
Qualifications:
- Data entry experience
- Must be able to work full time for the next 6 months
- Must be able to begin working as soon as possible
- Must have a home office with Internet access
- Familiarity with photo, video and audio files
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Creative problem-solving abilities
